Chug [noun]

A "chug" in heavy metal music refers to the rhythmic and percussive sound created by rapidly muting and striking the guitar strings, typically with palm-muted power chords, adding a driving and aggressive quality to the music.

ToneX Captures

I am Muddy Fox,
and I am on a quest for the Perfect Chug.
On that quest, I combine different high-gain amps with various overdrive and boost pedals to find the recipe for the ultimate chugga-chugga. Many of the amps and pedals I use are rare or boutique. You have to do what you have to do for the perfect chug.
Here, you can get my ToneX Captures that are the most promising contenders for the perfect chug. All my captures are done in advanced mode for the highest quality. Every pack consists of 10 tone models. Eight of them are combinations of different pedals and the amp tweaked to deliver the best tone possible. Additionally, you get two tone models of the "pure amp" with different channels or settings so that you can boost it with your pedal. I provide direct (DI) captures only since this is the way I prefer ToneX tone models myself. By combining a heavy chugging base tone with the impulse response (IR) of your choice, you get an amazing and yet individual tone. Every pack also contains my personal go-to IR. It is taken from my oversized Hughes & Kettner cab loaded with Celestion Classic Lead 80 and Celestion G12 EVH and recorded with a Shure SM57 and a Sennheiser MD421. This way, you can precisely hear what I heard when I was tweaking the sounds for the tone models but at the same time give it your own style by using your preferred IR if you wish to.

I only use the best equipment for my captures: only real, original amps (no plugin captures or similar BS), St. Rock React:IR Reactive Loadbox (providing a nice authentic low end), Driftwood Reactive Loadbox, Apogee audio interface, ToneX Capture reamp box, high-quality cables and short cable runs.

But now, enough of the talking, let’s do some heavy CHUGGA CHUGGA!

P.S.: Just in case it hasn't become clear by this point: you'll only find heavy high-gain sounds here. No clean tones, no crunch, no edge of break-up. Just the perfect chug.
